LCRP Endorses Carlisle Kennedy for State Senate

(Lexington, S.C) The Lexington County Republican Party (LCRP) conducted a special-called meeting on Friday night and endorsed Carlisle Kennedy for State Senate District 23. The seat is currently held by incumbent Sen. Katrina Shealy. The election between the two is among the races in the Republican Primary Runoffs on Tuesday, June 25th.

“The mission of our party is to promote our platform and elect candidates who support it,” said Chairman Mark Weber. “To that end, the LCRP Endorsement Committee felt that the importance and urgency of addressing Senate District 23 warranted a special called meeting.”

Weber continued “The Executive Committee unanimously agreed with the recommendation of endorsing Carlisle Kennedy. Carlisle has made it clear that he will follow the platform of the Republican Party. Meanwhile, the incumbent’s record has been disappointing.”

The endorsement for Kennedy comes on the heels of a successful first round of endorsements for the June 11th Republican Primary.

“Our Executive Committee will continue to selectively endorse candidates who support our party platform in some elections,” said Weber. “In this case, it was a particularly important stand to take as we approach the June 25th primary runoff. As we do with all our endorsements, we will allocate resources and volunteers in support of Carlisle Kennedy.”

Early Voting for all partisan runoffs will take place on June 19-21 from 8:30am-5:00pm and from 7:00am-7:00pm on Election Day, June 25th.

Those who participated in the initial Republican Primary or did not vote in either partisan primary may participate in the runoff elections.
